CONTEXT ⏤ The All-New SANTA FE introduces a refined urban aesthetic defined by intuitive geometry and signature 'H' light graphics. In contrast, the XRT Concept takes the same design platform to its extreme, maximizing outdoor utility and off-road capability. The objective of this project was to establish a cohesive brand film that bridges two contrasting contexts: urban precision and untamed wilderness.
CHALLENGE ⏤ Urban sophistication and rugged off-road presence risk feeling disconnected, almost like two separate brand identities. The challenge was to move beyond generic beauty shots and repetitive driving scenes, engineering a visual rhythm that seamlessly connects these opposing aesthetics into a single, compelling narrative.
SOLUTION ⏤ We focused on the interplay of light and precise geometric structure. The film begins in controlled darkness, isolating the architectural precision and lighting details of the SANTA FE. The narrative then plunges into raw, unrefined elements like mud, water, and dense wilderness. As polished design collides with off-road dynamism, the shift in tempo reveals the expanding identity of the SANTA FE lineup and the bold, exploratory instinct at the core of the XRT Concept -
맥락 ⏤ '디 올 뉴 싼타페'는 직관적인 수평·수직 조형과 시그니처 'H' 라이팅을 통해 정제된 도심형 미학을 제시합니다. 반면 'XRT 콘셉트'는 동일한 플랫폼 위에서 아웃도어 유틸리티와 오프로드 퍼포먼스를 극대화한 모델입니다. 본 프로젝트의 목적은 도심형 패밀리 SUV의 정밀함과 극단적인 야생성이라는, 완전히 대립하는 두 개의 디자인 맥락을 하나의 브랜드 필름 안에 정립하는 것이었습니다.
고민 ⏤ 도심에서의 세련된 디자인 언어와 오프로드에서의 강인한 이미지는 자칫 서로 다른 브랜드처럼 단절되어 보일 위험이 있었습니다. 단순한 자동차 외관 컷의 나열이나 익숙한 오프로드 주행의 반복을 넘어, 두 가지 완전히 다른 미학적 성격이 단절 없이 하나의 유기적인 흐름으로 이어지도록 시각적 긴장감을 설계하는 것이 핵심 과제였습니다.
접근 ⏤ 우리는 빛과 정교한 기하학적 요소의 대비에 주목했습니다. 필름 전반부에서는 통제된 어둠과 정밀한 라이팅 연출을 통해 싼타페가 지닌 도심형 건축미와 디테일의 완성도를 조명합니다. 이어 시점은 진흙과 물보라가 몰아치는 거친 자연 환경으로 과감하게 다이빙합니다. 정교하게 다듬어진 디자인 요소들이 가공되지 않은 오프로드의 역동성과 충돌하는 템포 전환을 통해, 싼타페 라인업이 가진 정체성의 확장성과 XRT 콘셉트 고유의 대담한 탐험가 본능을 완성했습니다.
